Our Alpacas

We pride ourselves from the quality bloodlines that are represented in our alpaca herd.
Some of the lines are  SA Adagio, Hemmingway, Caligula, Royal Fawn, and El Negro just to name a few.

Ivanhoe, is one of our main herdsires

Picture
Ivanhoe is a multi ribbon winner (over 10 ribbons!), a  true black
with the finest of fleece. He has no grey in his
fleece even at age 10! He is a true herdsire and
has produce for us 7 girls !! and just 2 darling boys.
A fantastic ratio of  7/9  cria being the desired female!
His breeding fee is $1,500.  His micron count was just taken and

at age 11 it came in at an unheard of 25 microns!! This is super fine for a working male
at his age!  If you're looking for fine fleece genetics that hold with age, look no further!

If you are looking for SA Adagio bloodlines, he is the one!
A bold son of this famous sire.

Ivanhoe's latest cria, Moondancer !  A gorgeous true black from two true blacks (dam is Natasha tb).

Picture
He is an adorable boy with such a gentle disposition!  Growing like a weed now and large for his age!  Learning from his dad all there is to know about being the top herd sire .  His fleece is super soft and will be, coming from his sire who has keept the finest fleece for 11 years running.  We can't keep Ivanhoe's fleece in stock, it's the first to sell out year after year so we are happy to have gotten another true black.  With true blacks in both parental lines, you are sure to progenate more with Moondancer.

Vulcan is a fantastic fleeced alpaca. He is so fine he almost looks like a suri alpaca.

Picture
This little guy, Vulcan comes from the
bloodlines of Royal Fawn!  His fleece
is exceptional  with a micron count of 16 !!
Long staple, crimpy, silky soft!
His full brother sold for $9,000.00 and has
won over 10 ribbons!

HAPPY HILLS ALPACA FARM searched for foundation stock alpacas from all over the USA.  We have brought in alpacas from as far away as Oregon, Vermont as well as exceptional stock form Virginia and Arkansas.  We believe in mixing the bloodlines, creating what is know as "hybrid vigor" by introducing different gene pools into our breeding program.  We have had great success with this and all of our animals are extremely healthy!  This dense fleece, yet fine in micron count, great conformational lines and lots of spirit is our goal!  We let our crias be crias (babies) without halter training until they reach what we feel is the appropriate age to train.
Below are two of our female alpacas from 2011 that demonstrate our breeding goals.  Both come from unrelated bloodlines, yet have achieved our goals.  NICE!

Callisto's Salome

Picture
Sally, as we call her is the grand daughter of El Negro.
Callisto, her sire, like his sire has won numerous awards.
All are true black with the softest, fines fleece.  Sally is a
treasure at just 2 years old now.  She is gentle with a
calm disposition. Easy to keep and fun in the herd.
Her fleece is amazing! She will be bred to Ivanhoe in June,
She is for sale for $5,000.00 (  SOLD  )

OUR BEVY OF BEAUTIES

Picture
Some of the girls at feeding time.  It gets a little rushed, but the girls really
do get along well.  Alpacas are very gentle creatures and form lasting relationships.
When you buy an alpaca, one needs to buy at least two.  We offer discounts in buying
multiple alpacas or package deals.  We love our animals and have birthed, or mid-wived
most of these on the farm now so we want to see them happily settled onto your farm.
It's our goal to help you succeed and prosper in the alpaca business so we offer
quality mentoring in all aspects of the business.  You can always count on us!
Discounts given up to 30% depending on the size of the package you purchase.

MONTE  NE , grandson of Royal Fawn.

Picture

Monte Ne is our other main herdsire.  We purchased him before we bought any females because we were so impressed with him!  Grandson of Royal Fawn, the highest priced alpaca ever bought !  Monte gives his offspring exceptional staple length!  His staple length even at age 9 is over six inches!  He also has great crimp and dense, dense fleece with a full bonnet, as  you can see!  On top of this, he is one of our most gentle alpacas, even as a herdsire.
He is one of our best assets on the farm, watching over his crias, sweet talking the girls and training the junior herdsires how to be "a man."  We love him !

His herdsire fee is $1,500.
